GamerTrainer is building a community for gamers, by gamers.

Our Background

The team behind GamerTrainer has been playing video games for decades (and shows no signs of stopping).
We love the challenge, the fun, and the communities that have formed around gaming.
We noticed that while there are endless guides, videos, and other static resources, personalized training is hard to find.
Our platform allows gamers of all skill levels to get 1-on-1 lessons quickly, simply, and safely.

We’re looking to grow a diverse team of passionate Trainers every day. If you're an amazing gamer or a phenomenal teacher, you'd probably make a great Trainer.

A software engineer and casual game, Stephen formed the idea for GamerTrainer in early 2017 after struggling to learn a new game. He built the platform and serves all of GamerTrainer's technical roles, in addition to sales, marketing, fundraising, and every other job that comes with running a startup. A proud Terp (Maryland '14), Stephen is based in Washington, DC.

Steven Cheng

Community Management and Business Development

A former professional Dota 2 player, Steven still keeps his skills sharp by playing regularly, coaching, and gamecasting. At GamerTrainer, he manages the communities of Trainers and Students, develops and implements new business models, and builds strategic relationships for the company's continued growth.

The esports industry is booming, and we’re happy to discuss investment if our business model aligns with your goals. Our current investors have experience building scalable B2B and B2C apps and connections in the esports industry, but we’re looking for one to three key investors.
